    Plot

Annie, played by Bailey Spry is seeing fleeing her house in fear. She drives to the beach and calls her father with tearful eyes. By next day morning, she’s found murdered.

The focus then shifts to Jay (played by Maika Monroe), a college student, out with her boyfriend Hugh (played by Jake Weary) for a movie. While they’re out, Hugh spots a woman. Jay cannot see her. Filled with fear and anxiety, Hugh demands that they leave the theater. On a different date, Hugh and Jay have sex in his car. After having sex, Hugh then incapacitates Jay with chloroform. She wakes up terrified and finds that she is tied to a wheelchair. Hugh explains that he has passed on a curse. The curse is an entity that can is visible to only those with the curse. He clarifies that the entity can take on the look of any person, and will follow Jay at walking pace. Moreover, if it catches her, it will kill her and will chase the previous person to have passed it on. Hugh spots a naked woman walking towards them. Tensed, he drives Jay home and flees.

The next day, the police are unable to find Hugh, who was living under a false identity. Adding to this mystery is the supernatural element that haunts Jay. With the neighbors’ help, they discover that Hugh’s real name is Jeff Redmond and they finally trace him to his address. Jeff informs them that he received the curse from a one-night stand and echoes that Jay has to pass it on. What follows is an endless chase to pass on the curse to other people, or get rid of it altogether.

    Verdict

It Follows is one of those horror movies that manage to stand out among the sea of other mediocre ones of its kind. With its dark setting, photography and screenplay, It Follows does manage to create enough suspense. Disasterpeace did a good job with the movie soundtrack. He is new to this business for It Follows is his first feature film. At times, there is a huge bass note playing in the background, which honestly adds up to the tension for the audience. It Follows has rejuvenated the horror genre all together.

With the DVD, you shall receive bonus content such as theatrical trailer and a conversation of Disasterpeace.
