Watch Popular TV Shows For All-Round Entertainment
Let’s discuss each of these binge-worthy TV shows in a bit more detail. The list is arranged based on my views and the ongoing hype around several new seasons.
10. The Black Mirror
This famous sci-fi anthology series dives deep into the dark and dystopian side of technology. Each standalone episode is a chilling reflection of how innovation and tech could twist our reality and impact society today.

With its Emmy-winning episodes like “San Junipero” (Season 3, Episode 4) and “USS Callister” (season 4, Episode 1), Black Mirror is one of the brilliant TV series. As per Statista’s report, USS Callister reported the highest number of mentions over X and Subreddit, with around 46K mentions, last year.
Season 7 is already creating a buzz and is expected to release in 2025 (dates yet to be confirmed).
If you’re up for thought-provoking, mind-bending stories, this is a must-watch.
09. The Sopranos (1999)
The golden era of television, widely regarded The Sopranos as one of the greatest TV shows, even after 25 years. Personally, watching The Sopranos made me feel like I was stepping into the mind of an antihero. The lead character, Tony Soprano’s struggles – whether it’s his mob boss duties or personal life – both were captivating. I found myself often empathizing with the character who was, of course, a criminal but undeniably human (showcasing the duality in all of us).
The show won 21 Emmy awards, including cable TV’s first Primetime Emmy for ‘Outstanding Drama Series.’ Its final season attracted nearly 12 million viewers in 2007. Due to the unique storyline, The Sopranos remains one of the most famous and top TV shows to binge-watch.
08. Peaky Blinders (2013)
Peaky Blinders, led by the magnetic Thomas Shelby, continues to captivate audiences with intriguing storyline, complex characters, and iconic dialogues and one-liners like “By the order of Peaky Blinders” and “No fighting.”
With critically acclaimed seasons, Peaky Blinders has won several awards, including BAFTA, and has a global fanbase. The final season was the second highest-streaming series on Netflix, followed by Stranger Things, in 2022. It had recorded a viewing time of 904 million minutes in June 2022.
And the best news? Cillian Murphy will return as Thomas Shelby in the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie, which is set to release in 2026.
Watch all six seasons on Netflix to revisit Shelby’s legacy!
07. Suits (2011)
If you love legal drama, Suits is one of the top TV shows to binge-watch. It originally aired on USA Network in 2011 and gained a new fanbase when Netflix added the show to its platform in June 2023.
Suits topped Nielsen ratings charts for 12 weeks straight and became Netflix’s “most-watched acquired series” within a week. Nielsen also recorded around 57.7 billion minutes of viewing – the highest-ever record.
The storyline revolves around a talented college dropout, Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams), who works as a lawyer despite not having a law degree under the mentorship of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht). The duo’s witty dialogues, unique blend of legal cases, and character development contributed to its lasting success on both TV and OTT platforms.
06. Squid Game (2021)
I’m sure all of you have watched (or at least started watching) Squid Game at some point. It became a global sensation soon after its release in 2021, and within a month, recorded around 1.65 billion viewing hours on Netflix. This death-and-survival drama captured the themes of human desperation and wealth disparity from an all-new perspective.
With Season 2 just around the corner – releasing on December 26th, 2024 – Squid Game’s first season is gaining all the more attention. According to the latest report by Variety, Season 1 drew in more than 330 million users and has been viewed for over 2.8 billion hours since 2021.

05 Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul Universe (2008)
What happens when a well-mannered, middle-class family man who is a chemistry teacher starts cooking meth to fight off his struggles? My all-time favorite, Breaking Bad, answers this question with flawless storytelling and edge-of-your-seat tension.
Walter White’s transformation into “Heisenberg” is gripping, while his partnership with Jesse Pinkman keeps viewers hooked throughout. Its prequel, Better Call Saul, explores Jimmy McGill’s evolution into the shady Saul Goodman. Both these are binge-worthy TV shows from start to finish.
In 2013, Breaking Bad was listed in the ‘Guinness Book of World Records,’ as the most critically acclaimed TV show of all time. Rotten Tomatoes ranked it as the top TV series in the last 25 years, followed by other famous shows like The Wire, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones, and Stranger Things.
04. Wednesday (2022)
Do you remember the 90’s iconic movie, The Addams Family? Drawing inspiration from this, Netflix premiered the spin-off, Wednesday, sparking nostalgia while captivating new viewers. The story revolves around the dark-witted Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) at Nevermore Academy. The show perfectly combines the secrets of Nevermore, supernatural entities, and her signature deadpan humor.
There are many interesting fan theories about the upcoming Season 2 (2025), which talks about Wednesday being the Hyde Master, the return of Goody Addams, and the possible stalker or serial killer out on the loose.
As of December 1st, 2024, in Netflix’s most popular TV shows, Wednesday topped the list with over 1.7 billion viewing hours and 2.5 billion viewers.
03. The Witcher (2019)
The Witcher is a fantasy masterpiece that blends monster-slaying action with a deep narrative and parallel timelines. This series definitely gave me Game of Thrones and Vikings vibes – with serious characters, action scenes, and a storyline tracing back generations of mysteries and legends.
Statista reported that the series saw the highest demand in the first month of its release in the US and Poland, where The Witcher books and video game series originated.
The upcoming Season 4 (2025) is facing a lot of skepticism due to the replacement of the lead character. With Liam Hemsworth taking over as Geralt of Rivia – the witcher (initially played by Henry Cavill) – everyone is curious to see how the story unfolds.
02. The Last of Us (2023)
The second-top show on my list is The Last Of Us, which is one of those rare adaptations that does justice to its video game franchise. The story is set in the post-apocalyptic period, where Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (played by Bella Ramsey) strive to survive and find a possible cure for the mutant fungal plague.
The finale episode of Season 1 was viewed by 8.2 million people across all platforms, making it HBO’s most-watched debut TV show.
I would recommend this to anyone who wants to enjoy a bit of thrill, drama, and science all packed together, alongside outstanding acting.
With Season 2 all set to release in Q2 2025, fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next for Joel and Ellie.
If you’ve missed it – watch the Season 2 trailer now.
01. Stranger Things (2016)
The top show on my list is Stranger Things and for a good reason. With its perfect mix of 80s nostalgia, sci-fi narrative, friendships, and emotional storytelling, it became a huge hit. I mean, who doesn’t love rooting for Eleven (played by Millie Brown) and the Hawkins gang as they battle the monstrous forces of the Upside Down through their talent and telekinesis?
With the Stranger Things season finale being released in 2025 (dates yet to be confirmed), I eagerly await the epic conclusion to this story.
According to the reports, Stranger Things 4 was the most-streamed series in 2022. It has 1.8+ billion viewing hours on Netflix currently.
Binge-watch the show on Netflix and get ready for a highly-anticipated ending.
The Bottomline
If you find yourself asking, “Which Netflix series I should watch next?” then carefully skim through the list and find your pick. If you’re still looking for more options, try Narcos, You, Dark, Vikings, and others on Netflix or other OTT platforms.
I’d also recommend a few British TV series which are fun and intriguing.
These are just a few more of the Top TV shows to binge-watch when you’re in the mood to watch some action, drama, and thriller.
